Dicey!!!

February 18, 2009

 Postcard from Second Life.

I’ve been wanting to post about my friend Dice Beattie’s two sweet clothing lines for a while now and finally have the chance to do it today. I like Dice’s funky designs and bright, fresh colors. He has two lines he works on, one more casual and the other more high fashion. Roll the Dice is Dice’s more casual wear line, think tees with cheeky lettering and jeans you can throw on and wear with anything. Beats by Dice Beattie is his more high fashion line, with dresses and gowns, in his trademark bright solids and patterns. Check them both out as you’re sure to find something awesome to satisfy your sweet tooth. I am off to pack!! xoxoxo

What can I say? I was in a pretty, odd, colorful mood and this look emerged. I had a lot more written about it earlier, but deleted it all in favor of savory simplicity. Lamb’s hair came via the group and since slipping it on yesterday, I’ve yet to take it off. While happily shopping at the Alberto sim with December, I ran into one of Fall Into Decay’s locations and remembered I had their new dresses in my closet. FID is one of my favorite little dress shops, which is odd seeing as I have not posted about them yet. Such is me, it takes a while to post what I adore sometimes, simply because it is there and always around so I tend to overlook it. Not anymore. If you have not been to FID, you are in for a treat: simple, beautiful dresses with loved & worn textures and a ‘vintage/fresh’ cut. They are very versatile and wearable. I ran over to MiaSnow as I had been planning for the past few days, excited to check out her new releases. I love the clown skin because I usually cannot stand clowns. But her version is so pretty and weird that I needed to build around it. Some oddball accessories, mismatched shoes and the requisite rainbow accessories completed the look. And I even remembered the cotton candy! xoxo

Bubblegum, tie-dye pop. Falalalala…!!! I really love Church of Luxe and was inspired by their new release dress. After putting it on, I thought the outfit needed some color to it and I didn’t want to add another top so I modded together the belt of one COL dress to the skirt of another. Voila! My kooky look. ;p

I’ve been following Mayden Couture’s Flickr for a while now and was lucky enough to get a preview of the new line. I’m wearing the new Mayden Couture “Cley” skin and I adore it. You may have seen some of the other skins around and the whole line is shaping up to be just brilliant. The best news is they open today, and I’m totally heading over to pick up some more nummyness. Yay!

The ultra cool Dango Jewell dropped me her new releases and I couldn’t be happier with them!! Cute jeweled clutches in an array of colors and patterns. Because straps can be tricky in SL, I’m always looking for a good clutch to take the complication out of wearing something. I especially like these for their chunky, jeweled flap which adds just enough glamour and texture to really catch the eye.

I’m wearing my favorite rose ring by Elate! (I totes had to get the fat pack because I love them so much.) Their default attachment point is the right hand, which is cool because most rings go on the left. Saves me editing it!! Also, LeeZu’s flower headdress has been sitting in my inventory for a while, originally bought for a different outfit and completely forgotten about. :/ But it’s so fantastic, I was incredibly excited upon rediscovery as it’s super interesting and goes perfectly with this look, ftw!

I’ve mixed my favorite paper.couture pearl necklace with [ICoN]’s new Valentine’s release for a chunky/funky necklace. I love how [ICoN]’s comes with two different necklaces, one at the spine attachment point and one at the chest. So you can layer them or mix them with different necklaces as I have done here. Also, stop by [ICoN] and join the group to get a cute Valentine necklace for sale (for free) to group members only. I missed y’all, hopefully I can find a little more time this week to blog before it gets crazy again! =))) xoxo

ps. I really miss blogging a lot! RL has been hectic and busy, etc. etc. and it seems every time I want to post, something else gets in the way. For the next 2-3 weeks, posting here will be sporadic but after that it’s back to the schedule of regular nummyness. <333

{Beautiful Girls} Nile Shape

 {Beautiful Girls} Nile Shape

As some of you know, in December I quietly started a little cottage shop called {Beautiful Girls} where I sell my pretty little shapes & poses. I’ve held off on formally introducing the line on Better Imagined since I was lacking a home in & out of world, but that has changed! {Beautiful Girls} now has it’s own blog, where you can find the latest news and preview the new releases. Since {BG} is a ‘nomad’ business at the moment, it’s great to have some sort of place to house the label.

{Beautiful Girls} is pretty unique in that I’ve set out to make the prettiest shapes** I can and for the present time, am selling them as a ‘Pay what you wish or what you can’ item. I started making my own shapes from day one and found it fun to make them and pass them out to friends. This is the idea behind {BG}, my hope is that by having them for sale, I’m able to do what I’ve always done on a bigger scale. Which is pretty cool and exciting for me. :))

My first release was ‘Odette‘ and she debuted @ the now defunct Hotel Dare Free Shizzle Forest. (*tear.) This shop was put on by Free*Style and since I am a writer there I decided that instead of selling the shapes on OnRez, I’d offer them at the shop. Well it took a little bit for us to find a new place, but Apatia of the Starlust Hotel came to the rescue and offered Free*Style a stupendous spot @ Horst! You can’t believe the excitement we felt on move in day. For me, it doesn’t get much cooler than Starlust and I totally fangirl the place. lol.

So now that we’re all moved in, I’ve again put Odette up for sale and I also have a second offering: Nile. I’m pretty pleased with this shape, she’s beautiful and thick and sexy. I think you will like her a lot, as she goes with many skins and style types. I’ve put together some looks with Nile, styling details below. I hope you enjoy {Beautiful Girls} as much as I enjoy creating them. :)) xoxo
